Someone is stealing priceless documents from the Colonial History Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and replacing the stolen ones with near-perfect forgeries. Sister Benedicta, AKA ‘Bennie,’ is a visiting manuscript scholar-nun from the North of England, staying at Viridienne Greene’s B&B, doing researching a subset of religious dissidents in colonial America. To her horror, she discovers several of the supposed original documents in the museum’s collection are forgeries…and all hell breaks loose. Viridienne, with Sister Benedicta, and poet-Detective Fitzpatrick directly in the line of fire.  It’s DT, Viridienne’s beloved rescue cat who sounds the alarm…but nobody is listening.
