The blessing and cursing of words…

It’s a vile day outside my Plymouth Window. The anticipated snow has already turned to a cold sheeting rain and my plans for a morning of nostalgic snowstorm-gazing are washing away in front of me. That’s the bad news. The good news is that it’s still a perfect day for writing and making chili…and that hasn’t changed. I’m working on the 11th Olympia Brown Mystery, about an undocumented man and a church community that is divided over whether or not they should provide him sanctuary.  So what else is new?

So while I’m trying to work on the novel, there is an idea bubbling in my brain that is growing out the words, “In the beginning, there was the WORD.”…and then what happened?  The blessing and the curse(ing) of words. WORDS well and ill used; tyrannical and judgmental or compassionate and encouraging. A writers tool and a writers weapon. I feel a  poem or an Artist book coming on, maybe both. Stay tuned and if you are so inclined, share your thoughts with me on the quote, “In the beginning there was the Word.

More Anon…..Judy Campbell/Olympia Brown
